Today's screencast from Laura Rogers is a true end-user tip. She quickly demonstrates how to save a file directly from Office programs to SharePoint. This tip applies to all version of SharePoint and all versions of Microsoft Office. Also, when you have favorite document libraries that you work in all the time, use this demonstrated method to save those locations to Office programs. Do this once, and the shortcut will be available on the "Open" and the "Save As" screen in all Office applications on your computer.

Beginner’s Tip: Save Directly to SharePoint (Screencast)

Great tip! This makes it more efficient to open documents that I reference often. I also observed that it still utilizes the check-out and version control features (In Office 2007 at least).

I also finally figured out how to add things to the "Look in" pane. Bonus!

Very cool Tip!

Is there any workaround for Windows Vista ? Pasting the url into the "filename" field seems not to be supported in Vista.
