A couple of weeks ago, Christophe Humbert from Path to SharePoint presented a live online workshops, Easy Tabs Interface, to rave reviews. We've had numerous requests to run this one again, so we found a slot on October 8 at 1:00pm EST for him to deliver another session.

Christophe is spending time touching up the solutions and expanding on the context in which the solutions can be used, so we are extending this session to two hours.

If you are one of those who requested the workshop, please register immediately, as the first one sold out and we do not have room for another session until January. Take a quick look at the screencast below, and we hope to see you on October 8.

Thanks so much for the great webpart, and I have signed up for the workshope, but can this solution be used with a group of data view web parts?

Thanks, Kelly

Absolutely Kelly. All the default SharePoint Web Parts have the same structure, and the Easy Tabs will recognize them.

This is also true for the other Web Parts provided in the workshop - accordion and "Quick Menu" - as they are based on the same technique.

I have an example with a Data Form Web Part here:

Thanks so much - looking forward to the training!

I must have done something wrong - as I uploaded the easy tabs and placed them in a web part zone with a bunch of data view web parts. The tabs show in the edit mode, but not in view.

Did notice that a commentor on your site had a similar issue and provided a solution. I'll see what I'm doing wrong!

Kelly, make sure the Web Parts have the chrome set to "Title" or "Title and border".
In the workshop you'll get a different version that deals with Web Parts without title.

I attended your Easy Tabs workshop and put them to work on my test site right away! They work great! However, is there a way to get more than 2 rows? We have some sites that the users went crazy with webparts. The site has been branded, so the tabs push the page out to accommodate all webparts in the 2 rows. Any suggestions would be appreciated!! Thanks.

Hi,

I have used your easytabs in 3 webpartszone in a page. Now, I would like to find out how to set the Focus on a particular tab in other zones, when I click on a particular zone in WPZone 1. For example,

WPZone Tab US, ASIA
WPZone1 Tab US, ASIA
WPZone2 Tab US, ASIA
WPZone3 Tab US, ASIA

So, when I click on Asia on the WPZone, all other zones should change the focus to ASIA, regardless of what is set in cookie?

Could you please guide me on how to do this? I went through your code and could not figure out.

Thanks,

Ramesh

Hi,
We are using SP 2010, and I would love to be able to use EasyTabs, it's exactly what I need. But it appears that it won't work with 2010. Do you know if there has been any progress with making them work with the latest version of SP?

Thanks!
